There is no toilet on either boat. Boarding means wading to a small shuttle boat, then stepping across to your charter boat. Both move with the swell. Message us first if that could be difficult for anyone in your group.

Simone Passarelli
Simone grew up in Rome, learning to fish with his father Stefano on lakes, rivers and the sea. Bass, surf casting and fly fishing eventually led him to bluefin tuna off the Roman coast. He has lived in Costa Rica with his wife Arianna since 2014, learning this coastline trip by trip. He fishes trolling, live bait and popping for marlin, sailfish and roosterfish—and still picks up a fly rod for tarpon.
Jonathan Perez Valencia
Born and raised in Matapalo, the fishing neighborhood of Playa Sámara, Jonathan is a captain and dedicated spearfisherman. He knows the rocks and banks of this coast from years on and under the water. He has been with Gladiator since its first trip.
Stefano Passarelli
Born in Rome, Stefano’s surf-casting career took him to the world championship as a competitor and later a coach. He has written about fishing for years and works with SKY Italia on sportfishing series. He runs a Buddy Davis 28 out of Rome and joins Gladiator in Sámara as a guest captain.
